After the success of the first edition, Nepal Chamber of Commerce organized the second edition of its premier consumer and trade exhibition “Nepal Chamber Expo 2016”. The Expo was organized in co-operation with Ministry of Commerce and Trade & Export Promotion Center, Government of Nepal. Rt. Hon’ble Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, Vice President of Nepal inaugurated the expo on 23rd September and the exhibition ran till 27th September, 2016 at BhrikutiMandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu.
By marketing the Nepalese products and making the international brands and products to participate, the objective of the Expo was to create a conducive business environment to support the economic development. The Expo also aimed to portray the existence of boundless business opportunities in Nepalese industrial and commercial sector to encourage internal investments.
The Expo exhibited Agro Products, Food, Furniture, Garments, Leather goods, Construction materials, Handicraft and many other Nepalese industrial yields. The other segments included Automobile, Electrical & Electronics, Flooring & Furnishing, Home Appliances, Home Décor, Modular Kitchen, Fashion wear & Accessories, Mobile & Gadgets, FMCG, etc., to cater to eclectic tastes and interests.
Considering the festive mood and festive buying and selling still having strong hold in our society, the dates of the Expo were scheduled in such a way that the expo would conclude just few days before Ghatasthapana, the beginning of festive season in the Nepalese calendar. As the biggest consumer event “Nepal Chamber Expo 2016” had an increasingly wide range of products and services to seduce dedicated shopaholics.
Japan was the Partner Country of this edition. The organizers were hopeful that commemorating the 60th anniversary of Nepal-Japan Diplomatic Relation and Japan being the Partner Country, the Expo would have more diversity and grandeur.
The Expo housed around 175 stalls of renowned brands and quality products from Nepal, Japan, India, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Mt. Fuji Springs Inc. was the Title Sponsor of the Expo. Heritage Carpet wasthe Gold Sponsor and the Official Insurance was Prabhu Insurance.
Nepal Chamber Expo 2016 saw a footfall of more than 50,000 visitors in five days.
